Movements
Since we are a small group our choices of movements are complicated, Large club always use Mitchell movements. We cannot have a duplicate session with only 2 table but we will always use a Mitchell Movement with all other number of tables except for 4 tables which leaves us with 2 options
A 4 table Howell Movement is a movement for 8 pairs instead of instead of 4 N/S and 4 E/W pairs. This is a great way to play against all seven opposing pairs. The movement requires that all pairs (except Pair 1 that remains stationary) to move after each round to either N/S or E/W
A 4 table Mitchell Movement has 4 N/S and 4 E/W pairs and the moves are simple. All N/S are stationary and E/W moves up after the first, skips a table after the second round, goes up after the third round (the last round). The good news is that you play all of the boards. The bad news is that you don’t play against all of the players and you end up playing against the pair that you played on the first round.
We will play the 4 table Howell Movement most of the time
